About this role

We’re seeking a skilled and diligent Software Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll work as part of the engineering team to develop Lightpanda’s browser, focusing on expanding compatibility and ensuring real-world reliability.

What you will do

• Test the browser against websites, analyze and debug Javascript execution issues
• Detect, implement and test missing Web APIs in Zig and/or in Javascript
• Understand, deobfuscate, reproduce failing Javascript code
• Identify missing browser features and help the core team to improve functionality
• Improve, write and maintain the browser’s test suite (unit, WPT, end-to-end)

What we are looking for

• Strong experience with Javascript and/or Typescript development
• Experience with Zig and/or a desire to learn it
• Ability to give and process constructive feedback, and work independently
• Comfort with the fast-moving and dynamic nature of an early-stage startup

Bonus

• Experience of other programming languages, like C, C++, Go
• Familiarity with Web API standards and the Chrome Debug Protocol
• Experience with end-to-end testing/scraping tools like Puppeteer and Playwright
